Free Culture (Musica Lliure)

Here's a worthwhile project: a free cd compilation of artists from the Catalan Lands, along with a special performance by Brazil's Gilberto Gil. The Catalan Internet Festival being held in the Catalunya region of Spain until May 17th will include three concerts with some of the bands who participated in the cd. The entire cd can be downloaded in mp3 or ogg at Cultura Lliure

Please also enter our contest to win free cds by writing to radiowebpodcast@gmail.com. Several winners will be picked at random and announced on a later podcast.

Grooves From The U.K. and Canada

On podcast #2, we feature bands from the U.K. and Canada covering trip-hop and alternative pop/rock: 1/18/06 podcast

A few technical glitches to work out (and in my excitement, I forgot to mention the names of the tracks), but we succeeded in featuring the music of these three bands:

Amplifico - Hailing from Scotland, Amplifico is an emotive, piano/acoustic driven pop/rock band. On the 1/18/06 podcast, we played their song, "All Your Sins".

Tripstar - With Anna-karin Karlsson from Sweden and BT Robb from the U.K. We played "Beautiful". You can purchase their music on their website.

Shelley Cousins - You heard the dreamy song "Desire".

All of the music from the 1/18/06 podcast is courtesy of the Podsafe Music Network.

We also recommended the great website Screamin' Streaming Audio for folks who need a fix of "psychedelic drone spacey alternative punk stoner rock".
